🇬🇧 Some collaborations begin long before the first song
This summer has been intense.
Not so much because of what has already been released, but because of everything happening behind the scenes. Between trips, meetings, demos, working sessions and countless hours of conversation, my project JAFi X MARVEL has continued to grow in several directions at once.
Zaragoza, Sitges, Barcelona, Zurich and Munich have become some of the meeting points in this new chapter.
And the most interesting thing is that many of these collaborations have much deeper roots than they may seem.
Zaragoza: 25 years later
Perhaps the most special story of this summer has been reconnecting creatively with KokoWall.
Back in the late 90s, we shared stages, songs and dreams as part of The Los Nervios.
Twenty-five years have passed since that project came to an end.
Twenty-five years filled with experiences, different paths and a lot of music along the way.
And now we are sitting down together again to create.
We are currently working on several tracks that will gradually see the light of day. They represent something more than a simple collaboration. They are the reunion of two musicians who have found themselves speaking the same language again after a quarter of a century.
Sitges: learning again
Some collaborations carry a special meaning because they reconnect you with the people who helped shape the way you understand music.
In Sitges, a new collaboration has emerged with one of the people who has had the greatest influence on my musical journey since my years in Zaragoza and Logroño.
Someone I have always considered both a mentor and a brother.
Sharing ideas and songs once again is, in many ways, another circle closing while a new one opens at the same time.
Barcelona: where it all began
Barcelona has also brought something unexpected.
I am about to work with the person with whom I formed my very first band in Zaragoza.
Creating together again after so many years is difficult to put into words.
References change. Technology changes. Even the way songs are made changes.
But some creative connections remain completely intact.
Zurich: new perspectives
Meanwhile, several songs continue to take shape in Zurich alongside Italian musician Diego D'Argenio.
These tracks are part of the expanding universe of JAFi X MARVEL and will begin to reveal themselves very soon.
They bring new sensitivities, new approaches to melody and new ways of understanding creative collaboration.
Diego is also more active than ever with his guitars, working on a new project that will soon see the light of day.
Munich: where ideas finally breathe
Not everything this summer has been about meetings, collaborations or the kilometres travelled between cities.
An important part of the journey has happened in silence.
Munich has become my open laboratory.
A space where I continue exploring music production, synthesis, sound design and new studio technologies that expand the possibilities of every song.
It is also the place where ideas eventually find their final form.
Where a note recorded in Zaragoza, a conversation in Sitges or a collaboration born in Zurich ultimately becomes arrangements, textures and complete songs.
Most of the recordings, productions and mixes behind JAFi X MARVEL are created within these four walls.
That is why, even if it never appears in the credits, Munich has become another member of the project.
Because releasing music matters.
But continuing to learn, experiment and stay curious remains the best way forward.
Keep growing
Alongside these collaborations, I remain deeply involved in different courses related to music production, synthesis and studio technology.
I have the feeling that I am living through one of the most fertile and inspiring periods of the last few years.
I still can't share everything I would like to.
But there is one thing I can say with complete certainty:
There is a lot of music on the way.
And it may well be the most personal music I have made so far.

Y ahora hemos vuelto a sentarnos a crear juntos.
Sitges: volver a aprender
